The Main Cup offered support to the Craycraft Family on Sunday December 22, 2024. The shop held a fund raiser to help support the family on the loss of their son.

Christmas themed Trivia Night was on December 11! Everyone had a fun time!

The Worship Committee was so thankful that several members gave of their time to help decorate the church for the Advent/Christmas season! Many hands make light work!

Residents of Cedar Ridge Healthcare campus made wreaths to hang on their apartment doors. Our very own Vel Martin made this beautiful wreath. Simply gorgeous!

On Sunday, November 17, the Worship Committee hosted a Harvest Potluck meal following Morning Worship. Everyone was treated to cupcakes in celebration of Ruth Fryman’s 90th Birthday!

Cheryl Case gave a cooking class on Saturday, November 2nd. Everyone was instructed on how to make beef stroganoff, roast brussel sprouts, Waldorf salad, artisan bread and banana pudding. Doesn’t your mouth water reading the menu!!!! Yum!

Deacons Trunk or Treat Night Thursday October 31

All Saints Day Remembrance during October 27th Worship Service.

Christmas is just around the corner so a few ladies got together at church on Saturday, October 19 and made Kimekome ornaments. This project was led by Meg Ammerman. Kimekome is an Japanese art form of decorating styrofoam balls with leftover fabric.

Party at Presby Park was held on Sunday, September 22. Everyone enjoyed hotdogs, chips and fellowship. A big thanks goes to Matthew and Hazel Cooper, and Trish Torline for entertaining everyone with their wonderful God-given talents.

It was Singo Night at Maiden City. The Presby’s sadly didn’t win, but we all had lots of fun. Singo which translates to Sing - Bingo was played like bingo but each participant had a list of song titles and we had 3 rounds to match them in a line, an X, and finally cover all squares. Come join us next month on October 17. Hope to see you then.

Birth Announcement!!!

Last week, three members of our CPC family welcomed a new member to their family. Harold & Vel Martin welcomed their new great grandchild and Leigh Pulliam became her great aunt. Her parents, Dillon and Maija Pulliam named her Noa. Mother and daughter are doing well.

Congratulations to Paul Tucker for being named “Farmer of the Year“ by the Chamber of Commerce.

The Presbyterian Women sponsored a picnic for our veterans on Monday, August 19 at the VA on Leestown Rd. Everyone enjoyed the food and fellowship.

Flock Goldfinch and Flock Woodcock hosted the June End of the Month Meal on Saturday June 29, 2024. The food was great and wonderful fellowship was had by all who attended.

The Deacons hosted the annual church picnic on Sunday, June 23. It was held at Little Switzerland park. A wonderful time of worshipping God’s creation and fellowship was had by all. The food was delicious also.

Fun was had at Maiden City on June 20th. We had returning team members plus some new members for trivia night. The theme was Alphabet Soup. Hope to see more new members for next month’s trivia night. Also check the Facebook page for Maiden City Brewery “Cynthiana” for the weeks events.

The Cynthiana / Harrison County Library hosted their annual Summer Reading Program kickoff. This year our Fellowship Committee helped with the event. It was held on Thursday May 30th from 10 AM to noon. Everyone had a wonderful time. There were crafts, a bouncy house, petting zoo, face painting, hotdogs and ice cream, just to name a few fun things to do! The most exciting part was to climb in fire trucks, an ambulance, a fishing boat and several other vehicles. The event was very well attended. We can’t wait to help with this project next year!

Margaret Ann Kupar was born to John & Katherine Kupar on Sunday, June 4, 2024. She weighed 6 lbs and 10 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long. She will be known to her family and friends as Maggie. She will be welcomed home by her big brother, Burnam. Proud grandparents are Rev. Greg & Cindi Kupar.

Congratulations to Weston and Quinn Hinton on the birth their son, Weston Lucas, born in June 2. Proud grandparents are Laura and Mike Wachter.

It was trivia night at Maiden City Brewery and the theme was Star Trek. The Team name for us was “Trouble with Tresbies“. Everyone had a fun time and we encourage more people to come and enjoy in the fun. The Trivia nights will be held every 3rd Thursday of each month. Please check the Maiden City Facebook page for the weekly events.

On Sunday, May 19, the church celebrated Pentecost Sunday and also celebrated the accomplishments of our Seniors. After worship everyone enjoyed cake and punch and presented our Seniors, Emma Diss and Carollynn Tucker, with monogramed towel sets.

Congratulations to Kelsey and Alex Marx on the birth of their son, Rhegar Alexander Marx. He was born on May 13, 2024. He weighed 7 1/2 pounds. Proud grandfather is Boyd Marx.

On May 11th several ladies enjoyed the cooking class with Cheryl Case. Instructions for making Herbed Oatmeal Italian Bread were given.

A wonderful time of fellowship and enjoying great food was held at the Presbyterian Women’s annual luncheon. It was held on April 28th following Morning Worship.

Maundy Thursday Service March 28

The annual Easter Egg hunt was held following worship on March 24.

Hamar, the donkey, waited for Rev. Greg to tell the children about his role in carrying Jesus through Jerusalem. Then Rev. Greg, Hamar and the children acted out the scriptures about the triumphal entry of Jesus into the town.

The Monthly End of the Month Meal was held on Saturday, March 23 at noon. The Snowy Owls and Cardinals flocks were hosts. Everyone enjoyed the meal of lasagna, salad and garlic bread, topped off with cookies, brownies and cake for dessert.

On March 17, 2024 the Cynthiana Presbyterian Church welcomed a new member. Her name is Lavender Grace Beasley.

On March 15 there was a Poetry Reading at the Main Cup.

Sunday March 3 at 5:00 pm there was a trivia night hosted at the church. It was a great time for fun and fellowship.

Ash Wednesday service was held at 7 PM in the chapel.

Eleven people joined together for our first Lenten Prayer service at 6:45 AM on February 14th. It was a wonderful way to begin the Lenten season. Its a short (15 minutes or so) way to start your midweek during the Lenten season. Coffee and pastries provided afterwards at the Main Cup coffee shop next door. Think about joining us next week.
