Observing the season of Lent:

March 4th: Pancake Supper 5-7 PM

Early Morning Prayer Services will begin on March 5 at 6:45 AM in the Chapel. Services will also be held on March 12, 19, and 26.

We have been upgrading our capabilities of streaming and recording our church services. It will be an ongoing process, but one worth taking. We hope everyone will be able to worship with us, either in person or online.

!!! Upcoming Events in April !!!

The annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place on April 13 following Morning Worship Service. Donations of individually wrapped candy would be greatly appreciated. There will be a basket for candy on the table outside the church office. Thanks so much for your support in this Easter activity for our children.

Let’s go to the theater!!! Steel Magnolias is coming to the stage in April. Our own Casey Newcomb is in the cast! We would like to have a block of Presbyterians at the Sunday matinee performance on April 27. The tickets are $12.50 and money can be given to Tallu Smith. The sign-up sheet is in the hallway beside the Fellowship Hall.

Mission Statement

Cynthiana Presbyterian Church founded in 1829

Is an active, vital group of disciples.

The Holy Spirit leads us to minister

To the needs of our members,

To reach out to the whole community,

And to participate in the church universal.

Christ inspires us to share

Our faith, our facilities, and our resources.

In praising God, we provide Biblical preaching,

Christian education, and the sacraments.

We strive through our daily witness

To serve the Lord Jesus Christ.

This church welcomes all people

To use their God-given gifts

In His ministry.

Main Cup

The Main Cup is a mission outreach program of the Cynthiana Presbyterian Church and opened its doors on Monday, November 5, 2018.  The mission of the coffee shop is to provide a place to form relationships and serve a great cup of coffee.  We hope to meet people where they are and to nurture and develop the relationships that are formed there.

The Main Cup celebrated its 6th anniversary in 2024. It's a wonderful place to catch up with friends, meet new people, enjoy coffee, hot chocolate, lattes, etc. as well as partake in soup, sandwiches and other goodies.

The Main Cup is closed on Sundays but is open on Monday thru Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Hope to see you soon at The Main Cup!

Our goal at The Main Cup, other than serving a delicious cup of coffee is to continue to support local organizations and missions who are in need every month, as well as our house charity Living Waters for The World!  The photo is of the latest recipient, Harrison County Schools Family Resource Center. Thank you to everyone who continues to support our Friday Missions!

The Main Cup is now selling merchandise. Come check out the new t-shirts, mugs, and stickers!

Rev. Greg Kupar - Interim Minister

Cellphone: 859-312-0437

I came out of retirement to be interim pastor of this church. I was impressed with this church and the congregation when I came as a pulpit supply minister, and one thing led to another. I’m out of retirement and having a wonderful time serving this church. I went seminary a bit later in life, and have no regrets. My faith background is rather colorful; I was born into the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, left it when my mother had sort of fallout with the priest. We joined the Lutheran Church down the street because my mother didn’t drive! Dad stayed a devout member of the Orthodox church for the remainder of his life. I became presbyterian by marriage. My “home“ church is Maxwell Street Presbyterian in Lexington where I was deeply involved in so many projects, one of them became a catalyst for my entry into seminary. I’ve served churches in Kentucky and West Virginia. I’m also a lifeguard (one of the few “senior” ones), and a swim instructor at the High Street YMCA in Lexington. I love gardening, having gardens in my front yard! My wife Cindi sings in the MSPC choir, is a deacon and is the rock of our family. My son John is a pastor in Louisville, he and his wife Katherine have a son, Burnam (yes, he’s named after the church camp), my daughter Stephanie is a nurse in Lexington, she and her husband Matt have a son Andrew. Please feel free to contact me on my cell - 859-312-0437
